STEELERS ALERT! Hines Ward and Troy Polamalu

Every now and then I'm going to write a post detailing past and present Pittsburgh Steelers players, the history of the team, and/or other random Steelers info in my ever constant attempt to make Em a fan. Today's post is going to focus on my favorite offensive player, Hines Ward, and my favorite defensive player, Troy Polamalu. Let's get to it.

Hines Ward (Wide Receiver):
How can you NOT like that smiling face? Hines is known for smiling pretty much after every play made. Born in South Korea to an African American father and Korean mother, Hines is a continuous advocate for the acceptance of biracial youths in South Korea. That, and being absolutely adorable when he's with him mom.
Awwww

Hines Ward is a player you either hate or love. He's had some VERY questionable plays where he absolutely LEVELS someone on the other team (keep in mind, he's a wide receiver). He is best known for having pretty much every wide receiver record in Steelers history as well as being a fantastic blocker. Those who hate him label him a dirty player for his blocks, which in most cases the opposing player doesn't even see him coming. Observe:

Troy Polamalu (Strong Safety):

Unlike Hines Ward, I personally have not heard anything negative said about Troy Polamalu... other than his hair.

that beautiful, beautiful hair

Anyway, Polamalu is known as being fast, aggressive, and downright scrappy on every single snap. He goes all out once the ball is snapped until the whistle blows. Because of his hustle, he has had some incredible plays.

Polamalu is known for his Head and Shoulders commercials, as well as being one of the most religious and soft spoken guys of the NFL (he belongs to the Eastern Othodox church, and prays before every snap for the safety of everyone on the field). Like I said, hard not to respect the guy. Troy enjoys surfing, growing flowers, building furniture, and playing the piano.
